The owners of the Newquay Airport are helping customers beat the credit crunch this January by offering free parking to flyers.
The airport has teamed up with Air Southwest, who fly worldwide to 8 destinations all year round. The combined forces have created the offer of free parking until January 31st.
You may wonder why it's such a great thing to get free parking, if you can afford to get away on holiday during this time, then you can stretch to the price of the parking, however, for anyone that uses the airport frequently, especially for business or visiting relatives, and parks their car, they will know that this will be a great saving. Even if your're going on holiday, 5 days of free parking will save you around £30, which is always a great saving.
The parking offer is open to anyone that has already booked their flight or planning to booking a flight for before January 31st.
The head of commercial development at Newquay Airport, Karen Medweth, has said that the whole process will be simple to undertake. When you check in, you will be given a voucher to claim your free parking.
This sounds like a great idea by Air Southwest and the Newquay Airport, but will it be spreading to others? I would very much doubt it at places like Stansted, Gatwick or Heathrow, but maybe at smaller airports. However, whether it comes to other airports or not, it's always good to see other companies helping poeple save money.
